Old File Cabinet

I've always loved card catalogs and old filing cabinets. I don't know why, I just do. Am I the only one that gets card catalog envy when The Big Bang Theory is on?

When I saw this baby sitting all by its lonesome at a thrift store in Libby--with a $3.00 price tag mind you, I had to snag it up! I've been looking for something like this for years and when I saw it I knew I had to have it.

I know what I'd put in a large card catalog with many many draws. I'd put all my little craft things and office goodies. I'm having a hard time deciding what to put in this guy--if I should use if for business or pleasure. Hmmm. I'm not even sure what room I want it to go in? I thought office at first, but that's so expected. Right now it's on the kitchen counter where our mail usually gets piled up till it's flowing onto the floor.

I think it might eventually end up in my bedroom after we redo it. It will probably set on a refinished dresser I have yet to find and refinish. Not sure what I'll put in it, but I'll have awhile to figure it out since it's already been 3 years since we started the bedroom remodel and not finished it haha! I'm still debating whether or not I'm going to paint it. I do love the gun metal gray color (I'm really on a gray kick lately) and I do love the imperfections and scratches on the surface. It's not brand new and perfect, it's used. Loved.

If anyone ever finds an old card catalog, you can buy it for me!

Spider Plant

I found a neat little planter at a second hand store in Libby not too long ago and thought it was perfect for Boston's room. I had some clones hanging on my spider plant so I broke a few off and stuck them in the water beads.

Oxygen is good for a baby's room. I just hope this is the only spider I find in there!

So Behind

It goes without saying, I haven't updated much lately, and the stuff I have been updating is from weeks ago. It's not because I don't want to, I've just been so unbelievably busy getting this business stuff figured out. Right now I have a lot of people interested in getting pictures taken. The only trouble is, they are all in Libby and I am in Missoula.

We need to slow down our travel a bit after Sept 16th (We are going to the Deutches Fest in Odessa again this year). After that we need to spend some time at home organizing, cleaning and getting a few projects finished. I'll be able to make my way back up that way again in late October or early November.

Boston is growing like a weed and just the coolest cat around. He's still such a good baby, I can't believe it sometimes! He's going to be 6 months old tomorrow! I can't believe that either! I still haven't edited his 5 month picture yet! It's taken, just not edited and posted. I better get on that since I have his 6 month shoot tomorrow. Ahhhh!

Oh Deer

July-26-2011-5 copy

This little Mama has been camping out in my yard on and off for a week. She's quite photogenic and not at all scared to be approached (withing 10 feet anyway, I didn't try getting closer). I noticed she had a few injuries on her left side, I also noticed she likes to eat my tomato plants. She sat under the tree the other day for hours just chewing on grass (and my tomatoes apparently).

She decided she'd had enough of my yard and jumped into the neighbors yard. Later that evening I caught her out front eating bark off of my already-sickly-because-of-deer-attacks Crab Apple tree. We had to go get stakes and netting to keep her from future snacking. She's got 2 little fawns, but I haven't seen them with her for a few days. AT least I think it's her, the mother of the fawns also had some injuries on her left side. Also if you look at the last picture you can see where she'd recently had babies that were nursing.
