Our Tenth Week: In Pictures

Yes, I've been a major slacker-face lately ( even more so than my normal slacker-faceness). Four days late I'm finally getting the tenth week pictures up. Been pretty busy, so I'll just use that as my excuse this time!

week_10

I didn't get near as many pictures this week as I did for week nine. So your scroll finger won't get too tired this time!

My boy is still all smiles and the happiest baby I've ever seen. And I love him more and more every day. He really lights up my life.

Post about my awesome weekend coming soon...

Crib Bedding: Quilt Dunzo!

I'm so excited to announce that I finished the crib quilt. FINALLY! On Mother's Day I just decided to do it. Get it done. We went out to my in-laws like we do every Sunday and with my mother-in-laws supervision and guidance I finished it! I feel so accomplished! This is the first sewing project I've done since quilting class in high school. It's weird too because I used to LOVE quilting and sewing in general.

I also have the mobile on the crib finally.

I'm finally getting around to posting his name picture. It wasn't posted before he was born because his name was a secret, and I guess I just forgot to ever post it! It's still not hung though! Since it's going to hang above the crib, we have to get something to not only hang it, but secure it to the wall so it doesn't fall on or get pulled off the wall by little man. I just made the print in Photoshop and painted the frame white. I quite like how it goes with the quilt and the room in general.

Our Ninth Week: In Pictures

Boston had a very busy week growing! He smiles all the time now. He does this cute thing when you talk to him he starts smiling then sticks his tongue out at you while smiling. He's also starting talking a lot. His little voice is just about the cutest thing I've ever heard! I love it. He's growing fast now. He's outgrown a few of his newborn sized outfits! He still fits into about half of them though. His 0-3 month clothes fit great and most of them he still swims in.

He sucks on his hand a lot now. Before this week he really would only accidentally find it and suck on it, now he can do it purposefully. He's been sleeping from 11:30 PM/midnight through till 6:30 AM/7:00 AM. Every night this week. Then goes right back to sleep after eating till about 10:30 AM.

He still doesn't cry! Never! He grunts and kind of whimpers when he needs something and the second he gets it he's good. Now and then he'll give a quick little yell, but he's never very loud. The only times he's cried for us is a few times going into the car seat and getting out of the bath because he was cold. But the second he's gotten what he needs he just cuts it right off. Everyone I've talked to about his non-crying has said they'd never heard of it. I thought maybe he's broken (not in a bad way) or something. I did a bit of googling and it just seems that some babies are just not criers. How in God's name did I get so lucky to have one of them? This must mean that the next kid/kids we have are going to be screamers. For now I'm just sitting back and enjoy him.

He's such a fun and easy baby. I love every single day we have together. Sometimes after he's gone to sleep for the night I just lay there and look at him down in his little co-sleeper and think, "how did I get so lucky". He's everything I ever could have wanted and more. I still can't believe he's mine.

I'm so happy that tomorrow I will be celebrating my first mother's day with a living baby. We're going out to Ryan's parents house and he's making his mom's favorite for dinner. Risotto. It's reallllly good the way he makes it! I think maybe while I'm out there I'll kick my lazy streak and work on the quilt. I want to get that finished already!

Okay enough of my rambling. I went totally overboard on pictures this week, sorry! Here is our week in pictures:

Nursery Progress

I'm sure a few of you are wondering why I never posted the final finished pictures of Boston's nursery. Well, mostly because I'm not done. Is a room ever REALLy done? I've been slacking hardcore on his quilt. I'm happy to report that I have all of the blocks sewed together, I just need to attach the back and add binding.

Photobucket

Here is a little list of the things left to do for me to consider the room "done", at least done enough to post the after pictures.

-Finish quilt
-Hang his Boston picture
-figure out new shelves, secure to wall, and load with stuff
Photobucket
Ikea Ekby Bjarnum Shelf
Basically that's IT! Not a lot left to do. My biggest dilemma (well Ryan's really) is to get shelves that will fit the Ikea brackets we bought. I could give in and just figure something else out altogether, but I'm stubborn like that. I have had these shelves pictured in my head for many many months, and I've waited so that I can have them as pictured.

2 Months Old

Where has the time gone? He's growing up so fast. From one week to the next he's so different. I keep thinking there's no way I can love him any more than I do now, and I wake up the next morning to find that's not true. I never thought being a mother would be so amazing. I mean, I thought it would be pretty great, but I never imagined this.

I'm taking a new month picture every month on the 4th (he was born March 4) You can find the collection of Month photos HERE.

I think I want to get this printed and hang it somewhere in the house. I love all of his little faces!

It was soooo hard to get a good pic of him with his Easter basket. It was cold and really windy. He wasn't having it!
