Nick & Catherine's Wedding

On August 13th I had the pleasure of capturing another great couple joining their families together.



I just love weddings! I was shocked when 2 couples asked me to do their weddings this summer. I kept telling myself, "I'm no photographer, what do I think I'm doing?" I remember reading a quote a bit less than a year ago that really stuck with me;

To do anything in this world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in, and scramble through as well as we can. -Sydney Smith

So that is what I did. I was scared. Very scared. I thought surely I'd mess up the moments that were passing right before my eyes. Moments that I couldn't ask one to redo should I not get the shot. But guess what? I didn't mess it up! In fact, they were both pleased with their pictures. I'm so glad I didn't ruin it. I learned a lot and found that in fact I do pretty well under pressure. I'm no expert and have a million and one things left to learn, but the first step needs to be taken. Rare is it that someone can be a pro at something upon first trying it. Anyway, here are a few of my favorites from Nick and Catherine's big day.

Yes, I know this post is long overdue! I've been so busy it's not even funny.

Rock & Roll Time

On Tuesday Ryan had a meeting for work in Kalispell, so Boston and I rode along and met up with my mom, sister, brother and niece. We spent the whole day visiting second hand stores! I found a lot of cute little outfits and a few toys for Boston. My best find was this foot stool to go with the rocker I refinished for Boston's room. It was a total steal at $3.75! I thought I would just leave it pink, he won't care. KIDDING! I'm going to order a solid color (we have enough prints going on in the room already) to recover it with. I could just order more of the fabric I used for the rocker cushions, but you all know how I feel about matchy-matchy in my home. I'll probably do a solid orange to compliment.

Side Note: I realize I STILL haven't uploaded the "after" pictures yet. I've been slacking on the shelves. I hope to get the room finished soon and get the pictures posted. I'm so proud of how it's turned out so far!

Our Twenty-First Week: In Pictures

Oh Deer

This little Mama has been camping out in my yard on and off for a week. She's quite photogenic and not at all scared to be approached (withing 10 feet anyway, I didn't try getting closer). I noticed she had a few injuries on her left side, I also noticed she likes to eat my tomato plants. She sat under the tree the other day for hours just chewing on grass (and my tomatoes apparently).









She decided she'd had enough of my yard and jumped into the neighbors yard. Later that evening I caught her out front eating bark off of my already-sickly-because-of-deer-attacks Crab Apple tree. We had to go get stakes and netting to keep her from future snacking. She's got 2 little fawns, but I haven't seen them with her for a few days. AT least I think it's her, the mother of the fawns also had some injuries on her left side. Also if you look at the last picture you can see where she'd recently had babies that were nursing.

Our Twentieth Week: In Pictures

I spent most of the week finishing up editing the wedding pictures. I've also begun (AGAIN!!) to tackle my office. It's gotten worse since the last time I posted pictures. I'm sitting here trying to figure out the best way to organize everything, in the meantime I keep NOT doing anything haha. Oh I forgot to mention. When Ryan was in Vegas, his mom, dad and brother came and helped me organize and clean the garage! It was so needed! We still have a lot of totes and boxes to go through and decide what to do with, but at least till we get to it they are neatly stacked out of the way!
